It began its operation in 2005 as a business area of Ecoprogresso, SA but today Banif Ecoprogresso Trading, SA is an independent company, with Banif Investment Bank, SA and Grupo Fomentinvest as its shareholders. The new company operates in national and international markets using the brand Ecotrade.
